Reports to: Regional Sales Manager – South West Ontario Area

Education and Experience:
• Post-secondary education in Sales or Marketing
• Minimum of five years sales experience in the flooring sector

Primary Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
• Maintain and satisfactorily service the requirements of existing customers
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
• Plan travel throughout the territory in a cost-effective and productive manner
• Sensibly manage and control costs and expenses with travel and subsistence
• Record details and requests from customers following all meetings or communications
• Effectively execute the communication of customer needs to the relevant staff within the company
• Follow-up with all requests from customers to a satisfactory conclusion
• Achieve sales revenues and gross margin targets for existing and new business customers
• Continuously identify opportunities for improved business development and profitability
• Maintain a strong list of new customer opportunities
• Fully understand the assigned territory and the opportunities for business development
• Be aware of competitor’s products and their position within the market
• Ensure each customer is fully prepared to sell our products with updated literature, samples, displays, training and product knowledge
• Detailed and timely management reporting through the tools and procedures provided
• Resolve customer issues or concerns in an effective and timely manner.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences and conventions where applicable

Key Performance Indicators:
• Achieve sales revenue and gross margin targets for the territory
• Achieve new business development targets
• Effectively and accurately report customer activity for the territory in a timely and concise manner
• Maintain a relative portfolio of new business opportunities for conversion into active customers
• Communicate with the company in a professional, detailed and precise manner at all times to ensure instructions are followed correctly to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties
• Visit customers on a regular basis appropriate to the territory for the purpose of providing product knowledge training, and servicing the requirements of the customer in general
• Maintain a proactive approach to improving our service offering and customer experience
• Uphold the company’s policies and procedures, and professional standing at all times
