The Position
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Marketing & Communications Manager, the Graphic Designer & Marketing Coordinator will assist in the daily requirements of the MarCom department, including the general office, as it pertains to running a successful, day-to-day business.

Key Responsibilities
– About 50%, or less / more: creative duties pertaining but not limited to execution of brochures, branding (2 distinct company look and feel), web site page creation and updates, social media design, tradeshow booths and pop ups, e-newsletters, e-blasts, etc. Great opportunity to create exciting, unique design projects, which is backed by senior management and principals.
– About 50%, or less / more: office duties that relate to setup of printing flooring labels; acting on email request from staff, dealers and customers; assisting with flooring samples (limited at a later date); etc.

Qualifications and Experience
– Formal education and 1 to 2+ years experience in Graphic Design / Marketing from a known pedagogic institution
– Adobe Creative Cloud: Indesign (template), Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Illustrator, etc. on a Mac and PC
– Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
– Social Media Channels: Facebook, Houzz, Instagram, LinkedIn, for example
– Website knowledge and experience pertaining to Word Press, HTML, or any language related to websites
– Accomplishments Website- / Social Media-related certifications, such as Google Analytics
– Know the English well, and have the ability to speak it fluently and write it coherently—verbal and textual communications is a key factor
– Ability to proofread English copy—candidate needs to have a great handle on the North American English language. For example, know the difference between ‘which’ and ‘that’; plus en vs em dash, etc.
– Having knowledge / experience in marcom best practices is key; such as execution of e-Newletters
– Punctually replying to any sample requests from sales reps, dealers (stores) and/or consumers at any given time. On some days, sample requests can take up to the majority of the day, including arranging shipment couriers.

– Team player who assists in various aspects of the business, and with a “can-do attitude” when the opportunity arises—from high-profile creative to sundry related work
– Willing to accept direction in all aspects of the creative process
– Accountable for judgments and actions that reflects maturity
– Must have a sense of humour
– Capable of lifting 40lb flooring boxes, or assist in lifting partials
– The office is located in North Vancouver, which is of course accessible by car or public transit; but requires the disposition to be able to tolerate lengthy commutes, if applicable
– Participate in special projects as they arise and help out with other duties as required
– Punctual and reliable, and able to work independently
– Prepared to make a long-term commitment to the organization
